Amazon Prime Phishing Scam

Millions of shoppers around the globe subscribe to Amazon Prime to enjoy exclusive deals and speedy delivery. Cybercriminals are aware of this and try to exploit it. This week's scam involves receiving an email notifying you that your Prime membership is about to expire. The email contains a link that takes you to a PDF file.

Opening the PDF file redirects you to what appears to be an Amazon login page. While the login page seems authentic, it is actually a fake page controlled by cybercriminals. If you enter your login details, the page will then ask for additional sensitive information, such as your home address and credit card information. If you provide your personal details and credit card number, your Amazon Prime membership will not be renewed. Instead, cybercriminals will steal your login and financial information!

To avoid falling victim to an Amazon Prime phishing scam, follow these tips:
- Always be cautious when opening attachments, especially if the email is unexpected.
- If you are concerned about the status of your Amazon Prime membership, go directly to Amazon’s official website or mobile app to check it.
- Be wary of emails that create a sense of urgency or request sensitive information. If you are unsure whether an email is legitimate, contact Amazon directly through their official website or customer service number.

Stay vigilant and protect your information!
