Thousands of Hacked Disney+ Accounts for Sale on the Dark Web

If you’ve been anticipating the new Disney+ channel, you are definitely not alone. Disney reported that their new streaming service saw 10 million new users sign up in the first 24 hours alone! What an irresistible temptation for cyber-criminals who are stealing the new Disney+ accounts almost as fast as they’re created. But in most cases this isn’t the result of some scary hackers spreading malware. Instead, most of these accounts are being stolen for one simple reason: password re-use. Many people use the same password for more than one website. The bad guys take advantage of this by buying lists of known, hacked usernames and passwords. To protect your Disney+ account – and all your accounts – from theft, never use the same password for more than one website. If one site gets hacked, then all accounts with that password will be compromised. If you struggle with remembering passwords, consider using a free password manager like LastPass, Myki, or others. Stay safe out there!
