With the Holiday season behind us, you might think that scammers are winding down their activity. Instead, they are as active as ever! Scammers are using the post-holiday season to pose as well-known retailers.

If you’ve been anticipating the new Disney+ channel, you are definitely not alone. Disney reported that their new streaming service saw 10 million new users sign up in the first 24 hours alone!

Phishers are scamming Instagram users with fake copyright infringement warnings that trick people into giving up their Instagram login credentials. The fake emails appear to come from Instagram and warn users that their accounts have been hit with a copyright infringement notice. 

Android users beware – there’s a new type of ransomware disguising itself as pornographic or tech-related apps, and using text messaging to spread itself to other users. Once you download the malicious app, it scans and encrypts the files on your device, preventing you from accessing them.
